After I search for a movie I try to click on it the app crashes. I
have tried turning off and on my iPhone before use but that doesn't
help. I am using a first gen iPhone with the latest OS update.

We are aware of this issue. The search tab cannot be the first thing you tap on. So please switch tabs and come back to search if the app happens to load with the Search tab open. If you reinstall the app, it will never open on the Search tab, which will fix this issue. We also are working on a real fix to prevent the crash.

There does not seem to be a way to add to the instant queue.
Am I missing it?
